The Bryn Mawr School Board of Trustees welcomes eight new Term Trustees and a Trustee Emerita this year. The Bryn Mawr School Board of Trustees is the governing body, composed of alumnae, parents, and friends of the school, that oversees the administration in continuing and maintaining Bryn Mawr’s mission, and the sound fiscal management of the school.

Cynthia Amitin ‘85, has worked in private practice as a pediatrician at Cross Keys Pediatrics for the last 15 years. She has a particular interest in working with adolescents and addressing mental health issues. She has served as the school physician for the Park School of Baltimore for the last three years. Cindy received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Cynthia is an avid public radio fan and also serves on the WYPR Board of Directors. Cindy has served on the Bryn Mawr School Alumnae Board and is an eleventh grade class parent. She and her husband Steven have two children, Katie ‘21, and Ethan, a senior at the Park School.

Mary DeKuyper ‘56 Trustee Emerita is a self-employed consultant, facilitator, and trainer for nonprofits in areas such as; general governance, strategic planning, board development, board/staff relations, fundraising, volunteer management and advocacy. She is a former Faculty Associate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Education where she taught a course on governance of independent schools. Mary was the national chair of volunteers for the American Red Cross for a term of four years, including during 9/11. Mary has led 12 boards and served on 30 nonprofit boards. She is a former trustee of The Bryn Mawr School, having served for 14 years including as chair of the board and the Alumnae Association. She was the first recipient of the Bryn Mawr School’s Mary H. DeKuyper Award for Trusteeship – an award given in her honor. In 2006, she also received Bryn Mawr’s Distinguished Alumna Award. She received the Top 100 Maryland Women in the first year of the award and again in 2002. Mary lives in Baltimore, and has two grown children, two “perfect grandsons”, three cats and two dogs.

Ellen Dew ‘01 is an associate attorney at the DLA Piper Baltimore office with a focus on commercial, insurance, and product liability litigation as well as compliance matters. She received her B.A. from the University of Oklahoma and law degree at the University of Maryland School of Law, where she won the William P. Cunningham Award. Since 2005 she has been a member of the Women’s Law Center of Maryland. Ellen was named one of Maryland's Twenty in their Twenties by The Daily Record in 2011. She has served on the Bryn Mawr Alumnae Board since 2011. Since 2017 she has been a member of the Boards of Directors for Arts Education in Maryland Schools and Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Rebecca Henry is president of the Cylburn Arboretum Board of Trustees and leads the Diversity Committee for the Pomfret School Board of Trustees in Pomfret, CT. She was an Upper School teacher, coach, and advisor at Bryn Mawr from 1986 to 2012, and before that at the Brooks School in North Andover, MA and at Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Miss Porter’s School in 1977 and received her B.A. in American Studies from Yale University in 1981. Becky lives in Stevenson, Maryland, with her husband, Harry Gruner. Together they have three children: Emma ‘10, George, and Charlie.

Sarah Keogh ‘98, is the president of the Alumnae Association, and will serve a two-year term on the Board of Trustees as an ex-officio member. Sarah is the executive director of a nonprofit organization, Central Baltimore Future Fund. She was formerly an assistant attorney general at the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Prior to her time working for the Office of the Attorney General, she worked as the director of Family Advocacy Services for the Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning and as an attorney focused on elder law.  Sarah received a B.A. in French and in Child Development from Tufts University, and went on to the University of Maryland School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2005. She has been on The Bryn Mawr Alumnae Association Board since 2014, has been a mentor for the Baltimore Girls’ School Leadership Coalition since 2008, and volunteered as a Class Captain for the Annual Fund for many years. Sarah and her husband, Jonathan, have a daughter, Emma ‘27, and a son, Ben, who attends Gilman.

Peter Rubin is president and chief operating officer of Allstate Leasing and of Home Improvement Finance Partners (HIFP). Before joining Allstate and HIFP, Peter served as vice president and general counsel for MileOne Auto Group. Peter is also co-founder and partner of Atlantic Capital Group, a private equity and real estate investment firm. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his law degree from the University of Baltimore. Peter currently sits on the Board of Directors of The First Tee of Greater Baltimore and the Gray Devils Foundation. He resides in Lutherville with his wife, Rachel Young Rubin ‘91, and daughters Olivia ’18 and Emma ’21.

Georgie Smith ‘72 is a kindergarten teacher at Hampstead Hill Academy in East Baltimore, where she started an after school sports program for middle school girls. Georgie received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University and her master’s degree in social work from Boston College. She has served as a social worker at the Baltimore City jail, the public defender’s office and the Foster Care Review Board. She was previously the board chair of the Maryland Friends of Foster Children Foundation. With her husband Mark Fetting, Georgie founded and directed Camp Brightside, an outdoor summer camp that served the same 22 students from inner city Baltimore over a 10 year period. She has served as a trustee of Bryn Mawr for 12 years including terms as the Chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and Board Chair. She proved to be a strong leader as Bryn Mawr built the North Building and reached the successful completion of the overall $26 million “Bryn Mawr Always” Campaign in 2008. Her mother, two sisters and her daughter are Bryn Mawr alumnae.

Greer Cochran Verheyen ‘82, is the president of the Parents’ Association and will serve a one year term as an ex-officio Member of the board of trustees. Greer is principal data governance at Constellation. She received a mathematics and computer science degree from the University of Richmond. Greer is a former board member at the Grace and St. Peter’s School – The Wilkes School. She is also chair of the Maryland Swimming Officials. Her daughter, Isabel, is a sophomore at Bryn Mawr.

Mark Weigman is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. He is the head of the Investment Counsel Group and a portfolio manager in the U.S. Equity Division. Mark is also a vice president and Investment Advisory Committee member of the T. Rowe Price Tax-Efficient Equity Fund. He joined the firm in 1984 after earning both a B.B.A. and an M.S.F. in finance from Loyola University Maryland. Mark has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Investment Counselor designations. He is a past president of the Baltimore Security Analysts Society. Mark serves as Chairman of the Board of Sponsors for Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and is a member of Loyola’s Endowment Investment Committee. He is a member of the Investment Committee for the Charlestown Retirement Community investment fund and is a member of the Board of Governors for The Center Club. Mark has served on The Bryn Mawr School’s Endowment Committee since 2017. He and his wife Katherine have two daughters at Bryn Mawr, Mary Katherine ’20 and Anne Lindle ’22.
