Summer Camp Information

Registration Opens on January 8, at 9 a.m.
Summer at Bryn Mawr offers a huge range of camps for every interest. Whether you love sports, arts & crafts, science, drama, dance (or all of the above!), we are the place for you. Enjoy long-running favorites like Creative Workshop, Sports & Crafts, and Kitchen Chemistry, or find a new interest in Paper Crafts, STEAM Dream, Cricut Crafting, or Popstar Dance!  Before and after care provided FREE of charge! Lunch is included for all full-day campers!

Morning & Afternoon Extended Care

Morning Extended Care is available for those enrolled in a morning camp, and Afternoon Extended Care is available for those enrolled in an afternoon camp. Students enrolled in a full-day camp may participate in either or both.
 
  • Morning Extended Care begins at 8:00 a.m.
  • Afternoon Extended Care ends at 5:00 p.m.

Lunch Program

All campers enrolled in a morning and an afternoon program will receive lunch at no additional charge.  Campers will enjoy lunch and recess from 12:30-1:30pm (included in the cost of signing up for an AM and PM camp). 

Cancellation Policy

A student's withdrawal from a camp before April 1 will result in a $100 cancellation fee for each camp. Withdrawal of a camp after April 1, but at least one week prior to the beginning of the camp, will result in a $150 cancellation fee for each camp. Withdrawing from a camp less than one week prior to the beginning of camp will result in a forfeiture of all fees. Bryn Mawr reserves the right to waive the cancellation fee on a case-by-case basis in extenuating circumstances.

    Creative Workshop: S2 (2 Weeks: July 1-July 12)

    Grades K to 6th
    Instructor: Frances Morrissey, Friends School of Baltimore Assistant Principal of Pre-Primary
    Description: Join us as we continue the 50+ year tradition of Creative Workshop, offering a wonderful mix of arts and crafts, sewing, drama, cooking, music and creative games. Your children’s imaginations will soar as they choose among various opportunities throughout the program. Each session includes a performer, Surprise Day, Clash Day, and a performance by the campers for families and friends (will be recorded and shared for years of memories!). Small groups of similar-aged campers foster enduring friendships and support new friendships forming from summer to summer. Before you know it, your camper will grow up to become one of our enthusiastic and valued counselors.

    Tennis: Session 3

    Description: Have fun with some friends while improving your tennis skills and eye-hand coordination. We will work on improving the fundamental skills with fun games and some drills. No experience required!

    American Girl Doll/Pet: Session 3

    Grades K to 3rd

    Description: Crafting, cuteness and creativity collide at our popular American Girl camp! Campers bring their favorite doll to camp each day and get to select a new American Girl pet. We'll create unique and fun crafts for our dolls and pets to enjoy. Plenty of free play time is built into the session.

    Advanced Paper Crafts

    Grades 4th to 7th
    Instructor: Elizabeth Duzant, BMS Lower School World Language Teacher
    Description: Are you an oragami expert or just interested in learning more about it?  Have you ever explored zentangling or making jewlery out of paper beads?  In this Advanced version of Paper Crafts camp, students entering grades 4-6 will enjoy a relaxing morning of creative creation using a variety of types of different paper.

    Animal Fun

    Instructor: Lisa Warren, BMS Lower School World Language Teacher
    Description: If you love animals, this is the camp for you! We will play games, read books, do crafts, travel the world, and much more, all using the theme of animals. Each day we will do a different animal-related craft or project. Students will have the chance to discuss their favorite animals, pets, and even imaginary animals! There might even be some animal snacks.

    Paper Crafts

    Grades 1st to 3rd
    Instructor: Elizabeth Duzant, BMS Lower School World Language Teacher
    Description: Oh, the paper possibilities are endless! In this camp, we'll fold, cut, and create with a wide range of paper styles, from origami paper to textured cardstock. We'll learn the art of simple origami, create intricate zentangle patterns, and fashion wearable works of art with paper beads. With the right materials and a dash of creativity, you'll be amazed at what you can make! Bring your creativity and enjoy a calming afternoon of crafting.

    Calming Crafts & Friendship Bracelets: Session 2

    Description: After a busy morning of camps, join us for an afternoon of calming crafts like paint pouring, dot art, finger print art, and much more. We will also learn a new friendship bracelet each day. Campers will get their own bracelet making kit to keep and use all summer long!

    Improv Everywhere! - Full Day

    Instructor: Kelly Cardall, Upper School Theatre Director
    Description: This is an improv-based drama camp that will allow campers to tap into their imagination and creativity. Campers will get to play improv games, practice monologues, learn theater basics, and participate in a writing workshop where they'll work as a team to create characters and collaboratively write, stage, and perform a one-act show. Kids will even design their own sets and costumes!

    Description: Dance, sing, and embrace your inner Taylor Swift at Swiftie Camp! This half-day adventure is packed with arts and crafts, trivia, show & tell, dancing, karaoke, and (fingers crossed!) a viewing of Taylor Swift's epic Eras Tour movie. This camp is designed to provide an engaging and exciting experience for kids 3rd-6th grade. We promise it will not be a CRUEL SUMMER, are you.... READY FOR IT?!

    Celebrations Around the World

    Description: Learn about holidays and celebrations from around the world! Each day we will "visit" a different country and learn about a special celebration unique to that culture. Cooking, crafts, and virtual field trips will all make an appearance during the week. Every day is a holiday at this camp!

    Magical & Mythical Creatures: Session 1

    Description: Do you love mermaids, dragons, sea serpents, unicorns and fairies? Do you enjoy painting, sculpting and making artwork? Then this is the camp for you! We will design our own imaginary creatures as well as make artwork that celebrates the creatures we already know. This camp is all about fostering creativity, having fun, and building confidence. It's a supportive and playful space for young artists to stretch their artistic muscles and create a mythical world all their own.

    Description: Immerse yourself in the magic of fairy tales from around the world and discover delicious delights and creative crafts from every corner of the globe. We'll explore enchanting stories from cultures near and far, and then we'll whip up treats and crafts from those same places. Take a trip as you learn about the folklore of different countries.

    Spanish Languages and Cultures

    Description: Students will practice the Spanish language while learning about the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. We will explore history, food, crafts, art, and so much more! We will "visit" a variety of Spanish-speaking countries during the week and learn about what makes them so special. Students will learn vocabulary related to our activities that will help them build their Spanish skills. Each day will feature a craft and/or cooking activity.

    Storybook STEM: Session 2

    Grades K to 3rd

    Description:Get ready for some summer adventures that get campers reading, building, and innovating. Each day, we will listen to a read-aloud story that sets the stage for a STEM challenge. Students will brainstorm, plan, and create to solve a task using different materials. Come boost your STEM skills in a fun and engaging environment.

    Safe Sitter®

    Grades 5th to 8th
    Instructor: Brought to BMS by Safe Sitter® / Alisha Caruso, BMS Lower School Technology Integrator
    Description: Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 5-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice choking rescue! Safe Sitter® Course includes: safety skills, child care skills, first aid & rescue skills, and life & business skills.

    Kitchen Chemistry

    Description: Have you ever marveled at a lava lamp, made a miniature motorboat, or used the sun’s powers to grow crystals? All of these are made possible through chemical reactions. Become a scientist and discover how these and many more amazing reactions work in this hands-on chemistry camp.

    Description:     
    Campers will learn beginner hip-hop/ jazz style dances choreographed to the music of their favorite popstars! We’ll teach them the moves to dance on stage like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Madison Beer and One Direction! The final day of camp features a video recording of dancing showcase, where family and friends can watch at home the work done over the week.

    Description: This camp will give kids fun and exciting ways to challenge their brains. We will explore logic puzzles, develop inventions, and find creative ways to explore the world.
