Empower her to become the CEO of her own learning?

Bryn Mawr School

Grades 6-8
Young women thrive when they believe that what they’re doing matters—and in Bryn Mawr’s Middle School, students learn to take the lead in their education and trust in their own ability to make an impact, both in their own lives and in the world around them.

Here, Middle School students have the space to experiment with new ideas and make connections across disciplines, discovering not only how to learn but also how to think critically and be their own best advocates. When it’s time to advance to Upper School, Bryn Mawr girls are more than ready for the challenge.
Jennifer Dickens, Middle School Director

"This age is, in many ways, the perfect balance of 'I'm grown' and 'I still need you.' My goal is to ensure that every student feels both challenged and cared for as she navigates this remarkable stage of life." Jennifer Dickens Middle School Director

Our engaging and dynamic curriculum allows girls to experiment with new ideas and ways of learning, develop study habits and skills, and learn to take responsibility for themselves and the broader community. Our goal is to help girls become independent thinkers who can also embrace courageous discussions and empathize with others. Our capstone Voice & Vision Seminar guides students to do just that as they create a real product, service or piece of art/writing for an authentic audience.

Whole Girl, Whole Day

At Bryn Mawr, we care for the whole girl for the whole day, which means that our students are nourished and supported in and out of class, and before, during and after the school day.
