Arts at Bryn Mawr

Welcome to the thriving world of art at Bryn Mawr.
Artistic expression is celebrated here and is as unique as each individual girl. We invite you to discover the many ways of being an artist through dance, drama, music, and visual arts.
From days filled with color, song, rhythm, dance, play and performance for our youngest learners through dance companies, theater productions, a cappella and hand bell choirs, string ensembles and studio art for our older students, Bryn Mawr girls are discovering and developing their unique artists’ voices every day. Throughout her years at Bryn Mawr, a girl will learn to sing in many different languages, to move to the dance rhythms of the world – both classical and modern – and to express herself through a diverse range of creative experiences.

Arts Offerings

Bryn Mawr girls can be found building stage sets, developing photos in the darkroom, starring in the fall musical, playing the cello in a string ensemble and more. Dance, music, theatre and the fine arts are integral parts of the curriculum at Bryn Mawr and are enjoyed by novices and serious aficionados alike. Bryn Mawr girls feel free to try their hands at many things, supported by their teachers and classmates.

Performing Arts Opportunities

These courses and activities help to enrich students’ overall experience, both in and out of the classroom. Offerings in the fine and performing arts include dance, music, drama and visual arts. Starting in Lower School, students are given the opportunity to enroll in after school music and dance options. As girls age, the options for arts activities expand. There are also additional performance opportunities for Bryn Mawr girls in our coordinate schools and in the community at large. The opportunity to create and share art in a variety of media helps to build confidence and creativity.
