Welcome New Board of Trustees Members

The Bryn Mawr School Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome three new members who begin three-year terms in June 2025: Karla Aghajanian P’26, Anne Eggleston Broadus '88, and Byron King P’23, P’26. Additionally, Gracie Harrington ‘11 will serve as President of the Alumnae Association. 

At its final meeting, the Board approved its slate of officers for the upcoming year:

Chair: Rhonda Smith Wright ’95; Vice Chair: Melanie Lennon P’30; Vice Chair: Elizabeth Himelfarb Hurwitz '93, P'26 '31; Treasurer: Christopher Lenox P’35, Assistant Treasurer: Emily Mathews Wachtmeister '07, P'38; Secretary: Ted Winstead P’22; and Chair Elect: Ellen Smith Dew ’01, P’31.

Additionally, the Board thanked the following trustees who are completing their terms for their outstanding dedication and service to the school: Anne Sapir DeMuth ’82, P’13; Cristina Jacobs Easton ’02; Lexie Bozzuto Greene ’95, P’25; and Jennifer Sheff Yeagle ’97, P’27 ’30. Trustees also expressed appreciation for the service of outgoing Alumnae Association President Jenny German Nugent ’92, P’24

Karla Aghajanian P’26 is the owner and curator of Roam LLC, a boutique home and gift company. Previously, Karla led educational and cultural institutions' facilities master plans as a Principal and Planner at Ayers Saint Gross and Mahan Rykiel. Karla was a project manager and team leader who worked to improve the quality of communities and their anchor institutions for more than 22 years. Karla served on the Board of Trustees of The Bryn Mawr School from 7/1/2022 - 6/30/2024 as the Parents' Association President. Karla currently serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Upper School Project Committee. She and her husband, Jeff Brookes, live in Towson. Their daughter, Violet, is a member of Bryn Mawr's Class of 2026. 

Anne Eggleston Broadus '88 is the Head of Lower School at The New School in Nantucket, MA.  Before moving permanently to Nantucket in 2023, Anne was the Assistant Director of Bryn Mawr's Lower School, a position she assumed in 2013. Anne began working at Bryn Mawr in 1995. During her time here she taught in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and also served as Lower School Math Coordinator.  Anne received Bryn Mawr's prestigious Blair D. Stambaugh Award in 2017 for contributing most to the overall welfare of the school community as well as the Ella S. Colhoun & Elizabeth A. Reynolds Fund Award in 2004, recognizing teachers who make significant contributions to the Bryn Mawr School outside the classroom. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a Master's degree in teaching from Goucher College. Anne and her husband, Toby, have two children, Tom and Meredith.  

Byron King P’23, P’26 has over two decades of experience as a software engineer, information technology architect, and consultant. He works as a freelance consultant, providing expertise to companies across diverse industries, including advertising, banking, payment systems, insurance, and healthcare. He is a proud alumnus of Morgan State University.  Byron has served on the Bryn Mawr Parents Association since 2017, and previously served on the Executive Committee as the Middle School Chair. He currently co-chairs the Parent Committee for Inclusion and Belonging. Byron is also an experienced basketball coach. He and his wife, Hilary Roberts-King, have two children, Merriweather ‘23 and Harper ‘26. 

Alumnae Board President Gracie Harrington ‘11 is an Associate Director of Major Gifts at the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Gracie worked at Bryn Mawr College as a Major Gifts Officer, where she played a role in Bryn Mawr's groundbreaking Defy Expectation Campaign. Gracie holds a Nonprofit Ascending Leadership Certificate from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. In addition to being the incoming Alumnae Board President, Gracie leads the LGBTQ+ Alumnae Affinity Group and is the Annual Fund Captain for the Class of 2011. In her spare time, Gracie enjoys spending time with her dog Mittsy, exercising, exploring new areas, and searching for the best coffee shop. Gracie resides in Philadelphia, PA.
