On this bright spring morning the Upper School gathered in the Graduation Garden to celebrate Class Day and recognize the academic and extracurricular achievements of students over the past year.
Seniors Laila Gheis and Erin Zhang were chosen by their classmates as this year’s senior speakers. Erin used levity and humor to connect the Class of 2025 with their senior theme of the movie “Tangled.” “We’ve come a long way. We’ve grown up together. Glowed up together,” she said, “we've stood by one another through it all, fostering a bond that is now unbreakable and enduring.”
Laila guided the Class of 2025 through their years at Bryn Mawr, beginning in the Lower School at Walking and Running Club in the mornings and the International Expo, Middle School in advisory pods during Covid and lastly through Upper School. She reflected on who her classmates are and how far they’ve come, “Our class is full of artists who transform blank canvases into powerful stories, scientists whose curiosity drives them to explore the world’s mysteries, writers who bend language to make you feel deeply, athletes who train tirelessly to perfect their craft, and others who may still be finding their niche, but share a deep love for learning,” she said.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Class of 2025 was welcomed into the Alumnae Association. Congratulations to all the award winners. All awardees are members of the Class of 2025 unless otherwise noted.
