Second Grade Summer Reading

Welcome to the Second Grade!

Each student entering second grade this fall is strongly encouraged to read, either alone or with an older person, a minimum of FIVE BOOKS this summer. Below is a list of suggested authors and/or series that are appropriate and well liked. Included are authors who write poetry, fiction (chapter) books, and picture books. These are not the only authors that you can read. Summer is a wonderful time to visit your public library and explore new books and authors.

Enjoy your summer while continuing to read each and every day!

Record the books you read over the summer in the summer reading log. Remember to bring the completed log with you on the first day of school and give it to your new homeroom teacher

Click the link below for a printable copy of the log.
