Rhonda Smith Wright Named Chair-Elect of Board of Trustees

Rhonda Smith Wright ’95, P’27 has been named Chair-Elect of The Bryn Mawr School Board of Trustees. Her three-year term as Chair will begin following Bryn Mawr's graduation on June 2, 2023. 
Smith Wright has served on the Board of Trustees since 2019 and is currently a Vice Chair. Her active leadership and involvement with the school include chairing the board’s Community, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (2021-22), membership on the Alumnae Association board from 2003-2006 and 2016-2019, serving as a Parents’ Association class parent (2015-2016), and as a Lower School admissions tour guide.  
 
"Rhonda is a wonderful strategic partner and consummate professional, whose passion for Bryn Mawr and the student and alumnae experience is extraordinary,” said Monica Tucker P’16 ’19, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Her leadership on the Board of Trustees is grounded in her commitment to the mission of Bryn Mawr, her responsibilities as a Trustee and to the Board as a whole, and to the school's future vision and strategic goals. The Board of Trustees is beyond thrilled that she will be the next Board Chair."
 
Professionally, Smith Wright is a doctoral student in the PhD program at Johns Hopkins University researching and providing nursing care to persons living with sickle cell disease. As a public health nurse, she served as a clinical instructor for Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Schools of Nursing, where she supported the professional learning of graduate nursing students in community settings. Smith Wright  also consulted in public health roles and projects including workforce development, quality, care coordination, and community health assessments. 
 
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Michigan, and a master’s degree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University.
