The Lower School Extended Day program operates Monday through Friday from 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. in the Primary Center.
Extended Day students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities such as outdoor play, arts and crafts, reading, table games and puzzles. In addition, girls can do homework in a quiet workspace. A snack is provided each day.
Daily and weekly contracts are available on a semester basis. Families are billed monthly based on the fees listed on the contract, not on attendance. We can accommodate mid-semester changes to contracts on the first of each month.
Drop-in care is available for Lower School families on a daily basis with telephone or written notification to the Lower School office (410-323-1118 x1322). The drop-in fee is $15 per hour/portion of an hour.

Please note that if a sibling brings a classmate to Extended Day, charges will apply for the classmate.
Late carpool pick-up: Any student who has not been picked up 20 minutes after school is dismissed will be taken to Extended Day and a drop-in fee of $15 per hour/portion of an hour will be charged.

Afternoon Supervision and Activities The Middle School Afternoon Supervision program operates at no cost to families Monday throughFridayfrom4:00pm to 6:00 p.m.in the North Building, unless otherwise noted on our Middle School Calendar. Supervision as a service ends at 6:00 p.m.
Please read the procedures carefully and discuss them with your daughter. We will strictly enforce these rules because it is crucial for us to know each student’s whereabouts at all times and to ensure the well being of all our students. When a student fails to comply with a rule, she will have to serve a detention.
There will be two proctors each afternoon in the North Building – one in NB 8 and one in NB 7. This is an ideal time for your daughters to get some of their homework done. Encourage them to do so! A couple of times a week informal activities will be offered by US students for no cost that students may choose to join.
Procedures and Regulations for Middle School Afternoon Supervision
All students are required to sign in promptly by 4:00 pm. The school cannot be held responsible for a student who neglects to sign in. If your daughter has a lesson or other arrangements that interfere with the 4:00 deadline, please write or e-mail a note to the Middle School office that can be kept on file for reference during the year.
A student may not sign any name other than her own on the sign-in list. We ask that students please refrain from writing abbreviations on the list, as they are hard for us to decode.
If you are picking up a student, you may park on Melrose Avenue but NOT on the Little School Driveway Circle and walk around to the Quad Door to come in and sign out your students.
The person driving your daughter home must come into the building to sign her out. This is the most frequent infraction of the rules. Please do not ask your daughter to sign herself out.
Students will remain in these locations in the North Building: NB 8, NB 7, Lobby, and the Quad. Only 8th grade students with written permission on the Transportation form may sign out to attend athletic games on campus. Please be aware that they will not be supervised at those events.
Do not make arrangements to pick up your student at any location other than the North Building after 4:00.
A late fee will be charged after that time: $15.00 per 5 minutes after the 6:00 pm pickup time. Please contact the proctor in the event that you are running late, so he/she can know when to expect you. The school switchboard is shut down at 6:00 p.m. each day.
The direct contact number for Afternoon Supervision is 410-323-1118 x1688. Please keep this phone number in an accessible place. Also, be sure your daughter knows how to reach you every afternoon.
