Sharon Wolford Honored with National NBOA Award

Bryn Mawr’s Assistant Head of School for Finance and Administration Sharon Wolford has been recognized by the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) for extraordinary contributions to her school community.
The Will J. Hancock Unsung Hero Award honors business officers whose contributions exemplify exceptionally high standards of integrity, knowledge and motivation to help their schools succeed.

Sharon Wolford began her career in independent schools as a Business Officer at Bryn Mawr in 1994. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she spent more than a decade in public accounting before her move to the school. During Sharon's time at Bryn Mawr, the school as seen substantial growth in financial and capital areas. She was active in the vision and financing of the North Building, the Lower School renovation, Bryn Mawr’s turf field project, the Innovation Lab and the current Student Center project. Sharon is an integral part of the management of The Bryn Mawr School and known as an expert in her field, both regionally and nationally. She has previously served as a board member for AIMS, a presenter at the NBOA annual meetings, and a member of the AIMS Self Study team.

Head of School Sue Sadler presented the award at the final meeting of the 2018-19 Board of Trustees, calling Sharon "an exceptional team member and partner."
