Fall 2021 National Letter of Intent Signing Day

Five Bryn Mawr seniors signed National Letters of Intent to commit to Division I college athletic teams. The athletes, their families, friends and coaches were able to gather outside to watch the signings and celebrate years of hard work and dedication.

Congratulations to:
Shayna Brodman, Davidson College, Lacrosse
Hannah Johnson, Johns Hopkins University, Lacrosse
Ava Mickel, Yale University, Field Hockey
Izzy Rothwell, University of Delaware, Field Hockey
Brooke Vinson, Ohio State University, Lacrosse

Assistant Director of Athletics and Varsity Lacrosse Coach Molly Wolf ‘12 commended Izzy Rothwell and Ava Mickel for their work during the field hockey season describing the captains as “impact players” this fall. “They led the varsity field hockey team to the IAAM A Conference semifinals. As the center midfielder, Ava was instrumental in controlling the midfield with her flawless stick work. Izzy Rothwell led the defensive front, shutting down opponents while scoring herself on many occasions,” Wolf said, congratulating them for continuing their field hockey careers at the collegiate level.

Coach Wolf also highlighted the seniors pursuing lacrosse in college saying, “Brooke Vinson, Hannah Johnson, and Shayna Brodman are three standout players on the varsity lacrosse team at Bryn Mawr. Brooke is a solid presence on the defensive end, leading on and off the field while causing turnovers. Hannah is a stellar midfielder and draw specialist; she is disciplined and has a fantastic lacrosse IQ.  Shayna is an aggressive and talented midfielder—her lockdown one-on-one defense shuts down attackers,” she shared.

Mawrtian Nation is proud of these accomplishments and can’t wait to see what these five seniors will do at the next level.
