What do you like the most about teaching at Bryn Mawr?

The children. I love how much young children develop in the course of a year. Working with the toddlers, there is so much growth that happens in a very short span of time. Some of the children come to us before they are walking or talking, and then by mid-year they are hitting those milestones. I also love the community. I have an awesome team that I work with. It is a very supportive place—really like a second home.

You have watched some of your students grow from toddlers through to graduating seniors. What is that like?

It’s wonderful to see that, to see how much they grow and change as people. It is so rewarding to watch them become these accomplished young women, especially when I have known some of them since they were infants. One of my former students actually came back to Little School to volunteer. It is amazing to think that she remembered having me as a teacher when she was here, and now she is an adult working with us! It really makes me feel good to know that I have helped to make them who they are today.
