Maintenance Worker

Member of the Operations Department, under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, provides repair and maintenance to campus buildings and equipment, supporting school events and assisting the Operations Department in event set-up and clean-up. A general knowledge of facility maintenance, repairs, and some mechanical/electrical skills are helpful.
  • Assist Facilities Manager with varying aspects of building repairs and maintenance to include;
  • Perform assigned workorders from the Facilities Manager
  • Make general repairs to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry
  • Deliver all packages from the receiving area to specified locations around campus while keeping package receiving area neat and orderly
  • Relamp and maintain all lights around campus
  • Replace faulty lighting ballast where necessary
  • Order and maintain lighting stock while keeping stock area neat and organized
  • Schedule and replace HVAC filters
  • Clean and oil HVAC units
  • Order and maintain filter stock while keeping filter stock area neat and organized
  • Help with campus use setups and break downs
  • Assist Operations department with snow/ice removal

  • Have a cooperative personality, exhibiting a willingness to work and be part of the team
  • Be able to follow schedules of all campus events and student events in order to have campus/buildings prepared as needed
  • Must take initiative to see each assignment to completion
  • Be flexible and willing to work cooperatively with many different people and departments
  • Be able to work around children and always have safety in mind
  • Possess ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Be able to work overtime as needed, such as snow removal, event preparation and/or clean-up
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to ride/drive tractors and trucks for uses of plowing, mulching, spreading salt and moving items -Ability to work outside in all types of seasonal weather
  • Be in good physical condition with the ability to work on feet, hands and knee for extended periods of time
