Breakfast & Books Series

Edith Hamilton Library
Sponsored by Student Affinity Groups, the Breakfast & Books Series is an Upper School student-led effort, supported by the Parents' Association Committee for Diversity & Inclusion.
The Breakfast & Books Series provide an opportunity for Upper School affinity clubs to engage Lower School students through children's literature which highlight the history, arts, and culture of diverse communities at Bryn Mawr. This connection between upper and lower schools girls support positive identity development for our youngest students belonging to these affinity groups, cross-cultural sharing and learning, access to upper school role models, and extends conversations regarding diversity, inclusion, and equity to Lower School in ways that are developmentally appropriate for students.

These events are student-led and supported by the Director of Diversity and the Parents’ Committee for Diversity & Inclusion. All Breakfast & Books gatherings will take place in the Edith Hamilton Library located in the Howell Building from 7:20a to 8a. The Parents’ Committee for Diversity & Inclusion will donate breakfast items and coordinate parent volunteers for setup and cleanup. Affinity club leaders will select books using the Lower School librarian and Director of Diversity as resources. These events are free but space is limited so interested Lower School families must RSVP by sending an email to titust@brynmawrschool.org at least one week prior to the event.

Breakfast & Books Series dates are:
  • January 18 - Gender and Sexuality Association
  • February 9 - Black Student Union
  • March 29 - Jewish Student Association
  • May 1 - Asian Student Union and Desi Club
