Lower School Read-A-Thon

Welcome to the 2017 Lower School Read-A-Thon!
January 23 – February 3, 2017
Get ready for your daughters to explore and celebrate the bravery and free spirit of some inspirational fictional female characters with the launch of the fifth annual Bryn Mawr Lower School Read-A-Thon. The theme for this year’s event is “Adventurers: Bold and Brave Fictional Females!"

The Read-A-Thon’s objectives are to promote a love for reading and to support literacy-based initiatives at Bryn Mawr and in the greater Baltimore community.

Starting January 23rd, students will set their reading goals, solicit pledges to support their reading and read, read, read! The reading period will occur between Monday, January 23rd and Friday, February 3rd. For these two weeks, each student will track her reading minutes and record her information on the calendar tally sheet. After the reading period ends on February 3rd, students will determine their reading totals and collect pledge money. Forms and pledge money are due in the Lower School office by Friday, February 10th, and the winning homerooms will be announced at the assembly on Monday, February 27th.

Please encourage your daughters to participate by helping them to select books, solicit sponsors, read to them (if necessary), assist them with logging and tallying their reading minutes and help them to complete and turn in their Read-A-Thon forms.

As always, we appreciate your involvement and support.
