Reporting to the Upper School Director and working closely with students, faculty, advisors and the Upper School Counselor, the Learning Specialist is skilled and experienced in providing learning strategies, organization and study skills to students who need academic support.   • Little School Part Time or Full Time Summer Program Teacher

    The Bryn Mawr Little School seeks a part time or full time summer program teacher to begin in late May or early June. Our program runs through the summer ending on August 19th . Candidates should be reliable, patient, creative, and have a thorough understanding of early childhood development. The Little School is a coed preschool for children ages 2 months through 5 years.     The Bryn Mawr School seeks a part time, growth-minded dance teacher to begin August , 2017. Responsibilities include teaching dance classes for 9th – 12th graders to prepare students for the school’s long standing dance tradition (Gym Drill) in early May. This teacher will help select, interpret, and teach cultural dances appropriate for upper school girls that will be performed at Gym Drill. Candidates should embrace collaborative and creative work that requires a high level of communication and organization with both our Arts and our Physical Education Departments. The position includes cross-divisional teaching, public speaking preparation, coordinating the middle school convocation schedule, and directing production work, both musicals and plays, potentially in all divisions at Bryn Mawr. This teacher should be willing to develop age-appropriate theater arts and playwriting curriculum, and they should be adept at creating a safe and engaging space for students. Candidates should also have an eye toward selecting shows for productions that cover a diverse range of perspectives. Qualified candidates should have 1-2 years coaching experience; playing experience and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent organization and communication skills. The head varsity coach is responsible for planning and attending all practices and matches, communicating with parents and students, motivating athletes, organizing and use of equipment, driving mini buses to away matches, attending pre and post season league coaches meetings and post season banquet. Practices are from 3:30-5:30 PM Mondays through Fridays. There is an average of 2 games per week. The field hockey season begins in August 15th and concludes in the beginning of November, there is some travel involved for away games. This position reports regularly to the Director of Athletics. This is a paid, part-time position and a background check is required.
