  • Creative Code Camp

    Girls and boys entering grades 6-8

    Instructor: Claire Sargo, MS Computer Science Teacher, The Bryn Mawr School
    Do you like to code? Want to learn a new coding language? No experience necessary! Students will learn how to use the micro:bit, a programmable microcomputer, and code various projects using the Python programming language. Create an interactive badge or create a reaction game to play with your friends!

    Girls and boys entering grades 5-8

    Instructor: Claire Sargo, MS Computer Science Teacher, The Bryn Mawr School
    Come explore your creative side using digital design and the laser cutter! Students will learn to use Adobe Illustrator to create original designs and build a finished product. Possible projects include making a personalized puzzle, build a wooden animal, or create your own game!

    5, 4, 3, 2, 1 blast off to a galaxy far, far away to learn about Earth and the amazing solar system. Discover all things galactic such as comets, planets, shooting stars, rockets and more. Learn about flight, the adventures of space travel, and participate in a rocket launch!

  • Introduction to Spanish and Spain

    Girls and boys entering grades 4-6

    Instructor: Lisa Warren, Lower School World Languages, The Bryn Mawr School
    This camp is designed for students who are new to the Spanish language. Students will learn some basic vocabulary and phrases, and they’ll be having conversations in Spanish by the end of the week! We will also explore the culture of Spain. We will visit the different regions of the country, while learning about Spain’s history, food, art, fashion, and more. Each day will feature a craft and/or cooking activity.

    Girls and boys entering grades 4-7

    Instructor: Sophie Richards, Middle School Science, The Bryn Mawr School
    In this exciting, hands-on camp, you will discover how much fun science and engineering can be! Using a STEM approach, we will explore various types of engineering through design and building challenges. You will construct littleBits circuits, create chemical reactions, and print using a 3D printer. Throughout the week, you will learn and practice the engineering design process and discover the science behind circuits, forces and energy. Come join us for a week of creative exploration and discovery!

    Math Munch is for all budding mathematicians! We immerse the children in rich and multi-sensory activities using manipulative and hands on activities to build your child’s math skill set. Through our activities students will learn about basic addition and subtraction, graphing, telling time, fractions, word problems and money.

  • Mini Med School

    Girls and boys entering grades K-2

    Brought to you by Little Scholars
    Is there a doctor in camp? Join us this summer as we bring Mini Med School to Bryn Mawr! Our little doctors will use stuffed animal patients to take blood pressure readings, give “stitches,” put on a cast and make their own first aid kit, all while learning lots about what doctors, dentists, EMTs and other medical professionals do on a daily basis. Join us in this fun filled camp.

  • Psych 101: My Mind & My Self

    Girls and boys entering grades 6-10

    Instructor: Christina Monteleone, Dance Instructor and Arts Program Manager, The Bryn Mawr School
    We will talk about the healthy mind and introduce students to the field of psychology. We will learn about psychologists, work on a group “project” that discusses a few common mental health diagnosis within this age group, and work together to share a safe space. We will incorporate games, characters from T.V. shows, and other fun tools!

    Come discover, experiment, and create as we learn about the colliding worlds of art and science in this STEAM-based camp.     Get out your magnifying glass and detective hat —we have clues to decipher and crimes to solve! We’ll put our critical thinking skills and STEM knowledge to the test and get to the bottom of mysteries by learning the tricks real investigators use to solve cases. While experimenting with simple detection techniques, your reasoning skills will grow and your problem solving skills will become better than CSI agents.

  • Water, Water, Everywhere

    Girls & Boys entering grades K-3

    Instructor: Amy McLoughlin, Meghann McMahon, Kindergarten Teachers, The Bryn Mawr School
    In this camp we will explore the water cycle with fun STEM activities, opportunities for water exploration, plus literature and crafts. Camp will be offered in the afternoons—perfect for campers attending Creative Workshop! Curriculum and projects will be changed weekly to accommodate children attending multiple sessions. Camp will be led by Bryn Mawr kindergarten teachers Amy McLoughlin and/or Meghann McMahon.
