  • Dorothy Clayborne Fellowship for Aspiring Teachers of Color

    The Bryn Mawr School, an independent, college-preparatory school in Baltimore for girls grades PK – 12, seeks applicants new to teaching for a 1 - 2 year-long teaching fellowship program to begin August, 2024.

    Named in honor of a true expert in her field who inspired confidence and a love of learning in her students for over 60 years, the Dorothy Clayborne Fellowship will include mentoring, professional development and experiential learning for aspiring teachers of color. 
    In this program, the Clayborne Fellow will be selected for the 2024-25 school year to co-teach with a mentor teacher while engaging fully in the life of the school. Fellows will be integral and active members of the faculty through participation in athletics, arts, clubs, DEI training, and service learning. Individual interests, both in the classroom and beyond, will help shape each fellowship experience.

  •  Wilgis Teaching Fellowship Program

  • Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr

    Overview
    The Bryn Mawr School has an immediate opening for a dynamic, detail-oriented advancement professional to support its Advancement team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, team player with prior fundraising experience and the ability to make personal solicitations.
     
    This is a full-time, twelve-month position that reports to the Associate Director of Advancement and closely collaborates with the entire Advancement team.
     
    Position Description
    The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for The Fund for Bryn Mawr. The fundraising plan includes developing goals, strategies, and programming to build and engage Bryn Mawr’s donor and prospect base.
     
    The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr identifies, solicits, cultivates, and stewards meaningful relationships with established and potential donors, securing annual contributions with a specific emphasis on building the pipeline for leadership giving and specialized gift efforts.
    The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr organizes and manages volunteer committees including but not limited to: The Senior Gift Committee Chair/Volunteers and The Fund for Bryn Mawr Chair/Volunteers. This role also works closely with The Director of Alumnae Engagement on reunion giving and reunion committees.
     
    Essential Functions and Duties:
    • Create and manage a multidimensional, segmented appeal schedule that utilizes a variety of mediums (e.g., direct mail, electronic, phone, and face-to-face solicitations) to communicate with potential and current donors.
    • Establish strategic dollar, participation, qualitative and quantitative goals for The Fund for Bryn Mawr in order to achieve annual giving goals. This includes but is not limited to managing, tracking, and analyzing donor renewal, acquisition and attrition, with an emphasis on donor performance and new strategies to maximize revenue.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications to produce copy for all solicitations and gift acknowledgments, with a focus on donor-centered fundraising and the impact of gift storytelling.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications to plan and execute successful Giving Day campaigns, including but not limited to Daisy Day (Annual Day of Giving) and Giving Tuesday.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications and the Communications team to utilize Give Campus to execute successful fundraising campaigns.
    • In partnership with The Director of Alumnae Engagement, orchestrate and oversee a collaborative and engaging Reunion Giving program.
    • Explore Affinity Giving programs as a way to increase giving across constituency groups.
    • Work collaboratively with the Advancement Services Team to produce weekly fundraising reports and Raiser’s Edge generated reports to ensure accurate gift entry, acknowledgment, and recognition of annual contributions.
    • Build relationships with managed prospects, and conduct at least 50 personal visits per year while moving prospects through the donor life cycle.
    • Utilize Raiser’s Edge to track visits, produce contact notes, conduct appropriate constituent follow-up, and generate fundraising progress reports.
    • Provide regular annual giving program updates for the Advancement Committee, Board of Trustees, Business Office, and Senior Leadership team.
    • Collaborate with the Advancement and Special Events Coordinator to support the planning and execution of stewardship, cultivation, and fundraising events.
    • Coordinate with Parent and Alumnae Directors to ensure alignment between annual giving goals and parent and alumnae engagement programming.
    • Manage the annual giving budget.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers across constituency groups.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Recommended Employment Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of experience directing or managing an annual fund with proven success in meeting fundraising goals

  • Admission Office Administrative Assistant

    The Bryn Mawr Admission Office seeks an organized, warm, enthusiastic, and technology savvy Administrative Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.     This is a part-time (7:15 a.m. – 3 p.m.), 8-month position (late August through late April) that includes occasional evening and weekend commitments.

    • Assist the Senior Director of Enrollment Management and the Assistant Director of Admission in managing admissions and enrollment process for the Lower School
    • Answer phones and respond to email inquiries

  • Lower School Counselor

    The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time Lower School Counselor to begin August, 2024.  Our Student Services department supports the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional health and well-being of all students through individual, small group and school-wide programming.  The Lower School Counselor will provide social-emotional support to students to help them develop a strong sense of self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-regulation to be successful in school and beyond. The ideal candidate is able to serve as a team-oriented collaborator, skilled facilitator and strong advocate in support of student success and wellness. 
    Responsibilities:
    • Serves as a resource for students, faculty, administrators, and parents to understand and deal with the social, emotional, behavioral, and personal needs of students. 
    • Emphasizes preventive and developmental counseling to provide students with life skills needed to deal with challenges that may arise and to enhance the student’s personal, social, and academic growth.
    • Consults with and serves as a resource for teachers, staff, and parents regarding the developmental needs of students, which includes, but is not limited to the following:
      • Conducts and facilitates conferences with teachers, students, and parents as needed.
      • Conducts in-service programs for faculty and staff.
      • Maintains records to document interventions in alignment with departmental standards.
    • Conducts short term structured, brief, goal-oriented counseling sessions in response to identified needs relative to achievement and school success of individuals and groups of students.

  • Facilities Technician

    Core Responsibilities

    The Bryn Mawr School has an immediate position opening for a full-time, 12-month, Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician is a key team member of the Operations Department. The Operations Department is responsible for maintaining all aspects of Bryn Mawr’s buildings and grounds. Bryn Mawr’s campus size is approximately 25 acres with 22 buildings. As a member of the Operations team, you will be responsible for completing various buildings and grounds maintenance tasks as assigned to you by the Senior Facilities Technician, Grounds Manager, and the Director of Operations.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Execute campus work
      • Work orders are primarily assigned by the Facilities and Operations
      • Work orders consist of various buildings or grounds maintenance tasks or light construction tasks such as but not limited to:
    Painting, furniture repair, equipment repair, installing window blinds, installing whiteboards, installing shelving, repairing doors and door hardware, various carpentry tasks, light construction renovation type projects, light plumbing repairs, light electrical repairs, light demolition, and other tasks such as required to maintain a safe and operational school campus at all times.
    • Use maintenance software (School Dude) to track the progress and status of
    • Assist in maintaining campus equipment to ensure Bryn Mawr facilities are operating at their highest potential.
    • Assist in maintaining campus grounds to ensure Bryn Mawr property is well maintained and presentable.
      • Duties are varied but may consist of:
    Cutting grass with a riding mower, grass edging/trimming, installing plantings, mulching, tree removal, leaf blowing / removal, and other grounds tasks as required to maintain safe and presentable campus grounds at all times.

  • Upper School History Teacher

  • Middle School Spanish Teacher

    The Bryn Mawr School is searching for a part (.80FTE) or potentially full time, growth-minded Middle School Spanish Teacher to begin in August, 2024.  Depending on sign ups and placement this spring, this position may be full time.   • Upper School Dean of Students

    The Bryn Mawr School seeks an Upper School Dean of Students to begin July 1, 2024.   The Dean of Students provides leadership and direction for co-curricular activities and special events in the Upper School. In this role, the Dean meets regularly with the Upper School Director and the Chief Advisors to formulate and implement policy on all issues affecting student life.  Reporting to the Upper School Director, the Dean serves as a liaison between the school administration and the students. The ultimate objective is to establish a positive, student-centered tone in the Upper School that encourages students to voice their opinions while simultaneously listening to the ideas of others.
     
    This is a twelve-month position including four weeks of vacation.
     
     
    Key Responsibilities
     
    Administrative
    • Establishing policy for Upper School students in regular meetings with Chief Advisors and with Upper School Director
    • Serving as school liaison for non-academic coordinate programs with Gilman and Roland Park Country School
    • Revising Upper School publications and materials, including the Upper School Handbook, Club Handbook, Advising 101 Handbook, and Chief Advisor resources 
    • Supervising student discipline; working with and serving on the Honor Council; administering disciplinary actions, including detentions
    • Overseeing the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date attendance records
    • Planning and organizing class and school-wide activities, including orientation and class retreats; consulting with appropriate faculty and staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the trips

    The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time, growth-minded upper school mathematics teacher to begin August, 2024.  Responsibilities include teaching four sections of math, advising a small group of students, and serving as a member of dynamic faculty and departmental teams.  The ideal candidate has a strong educational background with at least 3 – 5 years’ experience teaching upper school math (from Algebra to APCalculus).  Candidates should have a keen interest in teaching highly motivated girls at a school that values not only intellectual pursuits but also creative expression, the wonder of discovery, and the importance of building strong and inclusive relationships in a highly diverse community.

  • Library Intern

    The Bryn Mawr School is in search of a graduate student in Library and Information Science or School Library Media to complete an internship in the Edith Hamilton Library.  The Edith Hamilton Library serves the Middle and Upper School students and faculty of the Bryn Mawr School.  Responsibilities could include reading and research outreach to Middle School students, collaboration with Middle School faculty, collection development for the Middle School collection, creating library subject guides, cataloging and processing of books, working at the library circulation/information desk and assisting with reserves. Hours between 7:45am - 4:00pm are negotiable.
    This is a non-paying position.  Our team is committed to communicating and coordinating with colleges/universities to ensure the intern receives college credit for services rendered during the internship.

  • Lower School Extended Day Teachers

    The Bryn Mawr School is seeking dynamic, self-starters to join our Extended Day team. Extended Day Teachers collaborate to create a seamless transition between the regular school day and extended day by providing enriching activities. Regular components of the job include recreation, interactive reading, math and science activities. Extended Day Team Members use their knowledge of the development of young children and the ways in which they learn to support the social, emotional and cognitive development of young children. Extended Day Team Members strive to model and deliver the Bryn Mawr School philosophy of “Whole Girl, Whole Day.”  Extended Day Teachers are part-time positions reporting to the  Director of External Programs.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establishes rich and engaging physical extended day learning environments
    • Works with the Lower School Director and instructional staff to support extended day’s alignment with regular day curriculum and procedures
    • Creates safe, clean, attractive and engaging extended day spaces
    • Ensures the extended day contains sufficient supplies and materials for all children
    • Encourages children’s ownership and contributions to the extended day program
    • Plans collaboratively and shares ideas and resources with extended day team
    • Fulfills the standards of professionalism including appropriate dress, attendance and timeliness
    • Completes necessary paperwork (including, but not limited to lesson plans, accident and incident reports, supply requests)
    • Communicates regularly with parents and Lower School Director about student behavioral successes or concerns
    • Assists with supervision of students during enrichment activities
    • Assists with transitioning students to other after school programming such as Gateways, music lessons, and dance

    Requirements

    • Must be energetic, reliable, integrity driven and have strong communication skills to ensure effective, positive interactions with staff, parents and children
    • Previous experience developing and leading activities for young children aged 4-12 is preferred
    • Current college students or individuals with paraprofessional credentials are encouraged to apply
