Class Day

Class Day is on Monday, June 10, 2013. All senior parents and family members are invited. The Class Day Ceremony will begin at 8:30 AM, with a reception following at approximately 9:45 AM in the Sheridan Courtyard, located outside the Senior Room. A the reception, the members of the Class of 2013 will be welcomed into the Alumnae Association, receive their t-shirts, and the results of the Class of 2013 Senior Gift Effort will be announced. Graduation Garden Seating

Seating in the Graduation Garden will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Garden will open at 9:00 AM.  No seats may be reserved before the Garden opens. If anyone in your family requires special seating, please contact Mrs. Weber at ext. 1252.

Weather and Indoor Graduation Seating

In the event of inclement weather, our commencement exercises will be held in Centennial Hall. Due to space limitations, only ticket holders will be admitted to Centennial Hall. Non-ticketed guests will be seated in the Dance Studio and will be able to watch graduation on a large video screen. Please bring your tickets with you to Centennial Hall, as they are your admission tickets and will help to ensure proper seating for the commencement exercises. If for some reason you will not need all of your tickets, please return any extras at your earliest convenience so that we can redistribute them upon request to other families.

Parking

We encourage you to use the Gilman School parking lot located off Northern Parkway. From this lot, you may either use the pedestrian bridge or take advantage of the convenient shuttle service provided by Bryn Mawr, which will begin at 9:15 AM. Parking in the immediate neighborhood will be very limited. For the safety of all of our guests, and out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you please park courteously and limit your parking to one side of the street only. To provide for the safety and comfort of our guests with disabilities, we will limit vehicular access to the Gordon Building driveway to passenger drop off and pick up only. For more information click here.

Graduation Dresses

Please remember that dresses must be all white (not cream or ivory), and must have hems no more than seven inches from the floor, regardless of the height of your daughter or her heels. Shoes must also be white. Because of the unevenness of the ground in the graduation garden, ankle length hems and low-heeled shoes are recommended.  Hats and headdresses are not a part of accepted Bryn Mawr graduation attire; however students who, for religious reasons, have worn hair coverings daily while at Bryn Mawr may certainly do so at graduation. Those girls who choose to wear flowers in their hair may wear only white flowers or daisies.

Daisy Baskets

The daisy baskets, which we order for the seniors, may be picked up in the Commons Room any time after 8:30 AM on the day of graduation.

Photos & Video

Professional photographers will take one candid shot of every student accepting her diploma, as well as a class photo. The video of commencement will be mailed to you shortly after graduation, as will information on how to order the professional photographs.
