Senator Pugh

On September 29, Bryn Mawr Little School children and students in kindergarten through third grade enjoyed a special visit from Senator Catherine Pugh as part of Baltimore’s “Healthy City Days” initiative during September 27 – October 1. Senator Pugh spent time with the girls during Lower School recess and even joined some of the girls in a game of jump rope. Following recess, Senator Pugh met the girls, their teachers, and boys and girls from Little School in the Lower School Multi-Purpose Room for story time and a lively conversation about her newest book in the Healthy Holly series – Healthy Holly: Exercising Is Fun!. more...

Your Object, Your Color

Upper School art teacher David Little posed a challenging and rewarding first at-home independent art assignment for his intermediate painting students. Choose an object that is meaningful to you and paint it in a color of your choice. As each student approached what might have at first appeared to be a fairly straightforward assignment, the creative challenges of the project began to emerge through two seemingly simple choices. more...
Shiva's Fire

Middle School drama teacher JL Darrah has created a masterful theatrical piece based on the novel Shiva’s Fire, by award-winning author Suzanne Fisher Staples. Darrah’s play, which will be performed by our Middle School students, will premiere on November 12 & 13, 2010, in Centennial Hall. The story of Parvati, the protagonist of Shiva’s Fire, will be told through live music, dance, and shadow puppetry, as well as more conventional staging. more...
