Carrie Fucile '95
Carrie Fucile ’95 recently was an artist-in-residence at Bryn Mawr and worked with art students in Ms. Margiotta’s classes in the Upper School. Carrie’s artwork is currently on display in the Mildred Natwick Lobby and gallery space in Centennial Hall. Carrie’s printmaking uses “primarily soft-ground etching” technique and “involves the application of a special ground to the plate.” more...

Our Suffragists
On January 11, 1910, Bryn Mawr School Headmistress Edith Hamilton spoke in the second of a series of parlor meetings of the Equal Suffrage League. She explained that since municipal government was directed by commercial interests, cities would fare better with the influence of the vote of women because they “are not prone to act through commercialism.” Many of the women present were inspired to sign a petition for municipal voting rights for Baltimore women. more...

Bryn Mawr’s 125th session and special anniversary year opened in grand style with festive balloon sculptures around the campus, a celebratory opening of the newly renovated Lower School and fifth-grade classroom buildings, the dedication of the Peggy Bessent Library in the Lower School, an all-school flyover with aerial photography of our campus, and a special Founders Day event welcoming alumna Margaret Mock Obrecht ’56, who gave the Founders Day address. more...
