Julia Barry ’08 and Caroline Wacker ’08, who participated in the two-week Chesapeake Bay Foundation  (CBF) Student Leadership Trip last August, which was underwritten by the Julia Clayton Baker Chair for Environmental Stewardship.
 
Lauren Egan ’13, who participated in The World Youth Friendship Games swimming competition events held in Holland last summer. Lauren received two silver medals - one in the 200 meter breaststroke and a second in the 200 individual medley.
 
Zoë Isabella ’08 and Sucheta Ravindran ’08, who represented Bryn Mawr at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) 20/20 Student Leadership Conference held in London last June.
 
Katherine Walker ’12, who won third place in her age group for her short story, “Lake Memories,” in the Rehoboth Beach Writer’s Guild Short Story Contest.

The Bryn Mawr School, for being awarded two Gold Medals from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, District II, for its new institutional identity program and web homepage design created by New City Media. BMS Web Developer Justin Curtis will accept the web homepage design award and Director of Communications Nancy Sherman will accept the institutional identity program award on behalf of Bryn Mawr at the CASE Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico in January.
 
Dayseye, who performed at the Lyric Opera House on November 30 as part of the World AIDS Day event hosted by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene AIDS Administration.
 
Middle School art teacher Charlotte Armstead, who was honored at the National Association of Independent School’s People of Color Conference (PoCC) held in Boston, MA, November 29 through December 1. Ms. Armstead attended the very first conference, which was held in 1986 in Reston, VA, and over the last twenty years, she has attended ten conferences. At a banquet for more than 3,000 people, Ms. Armstead and a small group of attendees received certificates honoring them for their time and commitment to diversity in independent schools.
 
Heather Wilson, who had a paper published in the Journal of Virology, Volume 81:13235-13241 on the protein APOBEC3G and its role in blocking the HIV-1 virus.
 
Taylor Adams ’09 and Christina Thompson ’09, who will participate in Bryn Mawr’s global educational exchange program this year. In June 2008, Taylor will spend the month attending Christ's Hospital (CH) in West Sussex, England, and Christina will spend the month attending První Obnovené Reálné Gymnázium (PORG) in Prague, Czech Republic.
 
Samia Ahmed ’08, who competed at the regional level and won a Gold Key award for a computer art piece she submitted for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Samia also competed at the national level, winning a Silver Key award for digital photography.
