The Middle School's Friday Forum is a student-run, bi-monthly meeting where students discuss and debate issues involving diversity and multiculturalism in the Bryn Mawr community as well as the national arena. Last year a group of eighth graders attended the East Ed Middle School Diversity Conference to discuss issues of diversity with students from various mid-atlantic schools and to bring some fresh ideas back to the Bryn Mawr community. The students in attendance were very enthusiastic about the discussions and commented on how much work Bryn Mawr has done to achieve many of the goals determined by the discussion groups; but much work and effort are needed to maintain our success and to improve in certain areas.
The Bryn Mawr Middle School Advisory program promotes these same principles through the content of the Advisory Program. Two films that students view and discuss are Let's Get Real, produced by Women's Educational Media, and Beyond the Butterfly: Middle School Girls Speak Out, a Wisconsin Public Television production.
The Friday Forum is committed to upholding the principles stated in The Bryn Mawr School Diversity Statement.

We really bonded, used teamwork, and made new friends in that amazing camp. more...

For our experiment, we built boats using only one piece of cardboard, 12 inches of duct tape, one sheet of white paper, one sheet of tin foil, and a sheet of plastic wrap. more...
